Bush and Stone Temple Pilots made a stop in Dallas this week at the Toyota Music Factory to rock out the good people of Texas.
STP was first to take the stage and didn’t hold any punches back as they delivered hit after hit with “Wicked Garden” and “Vasoline”. Despite losing original front man Scott Weiland, the band has pushed on and enlisted Jeff Gutt on vocals. Brothers Robert and Dean DeLeo have only improved over time and still boast an impressive stage presence on bass and guitar. The band proved they can still rock the crowd, powering through favorites like “Plush”, “Interstate Love Song” and “Dead and Bloated”.
Bush headlined the show and immediately unleashed on the crowd with “Machinehead”. Gavin Rossdale’s vocals are still spot on and nailed it on greats like “Little Things” and “Glycerine”. The extreme amount of energy Bush puts into their live show is unrivaled and they definitely had the crowd eating from their palms. A stellar cover of The Beatles “Come Together” rounded things out before ending their set with “Comedown”. Great night and a great show for both bands!
